Over the years many volunteers from different organizations have engaged with Vidya & Child. The
volunteers have engaged through individual activities, group activities and organization led activities in
different ways. We believe that this has not only benefited Vidya & Child but has also helped volunteers
get engaged in the development sector.
Group Volunteering Activities
Career Counseling - Conducting Career Counseling Sessions for children of Class IX and above -
Group of volunteers with children at Vidya & Child. This gives a very good opportunity for children to
get exposed to real life experiences.
Excursions - Organization can help us organize one day excursions for a large group of children
where the excursion can be managed and run completely by volunteers. This exercise is a very good
way of bringing depth in relationship that volunteers have with our children. It also gives our
children a great opportunity to get exposure to the outside world. The excursions can be for
education purpose or for fun.
Conducting Sports Events (eg. Sports Day)
Guest Lectures - Group of volunteers can arrange for guest sessions lectures that senior
executives at your organization or other organizations can take up for children on some pre-defined
topics.
Reading Programme - A group of volunteers can make a weekly visit for a specified duration and
conduct reading programme for children where in volunteers who know good English and reading
skills can help children with reading of books, correcting their pronunciations, diction, expression
etc. This can culminate into a short showcase by the children.
Participation of children in organizational events - Our children can give
performances/exhibitions during events in corporate on the occasion of Diwali / Christmas/Holi
Celebration/Annual Meet etc.
Individual Volunteering Activities
We believe in a customized approach towards volunteer engagement. It is important to let the
volunteer understand the organization, children and then decide what he or she wants to do basis his /
her interest area and priorities of organization. This is a first step towards creating a long term
engagement with volunteers.
